It is very true that food is the cornerstone of friendships. I, for instance only buy food for my closest friends. These rituals become even more important and sacred when living in hostel and/or a flat. The implicit trust you have on others that whenever there will be something good to eat, it will be eaten together is almost a sacred promise. The late night ordering and bickering has been one of the most important parts of my college journey. I look forward to days when I'll again be able to order in super unhealthy food at 3 am in the night and have an 8 am to attend the next day. Very well written! Looking forward to listening the podcast too :)
My hope is that these small sacred promises don't die down due to the drudgeries of reality in the near future. Let's see what happens when I revisit this episode again after 5 years.
